Kim Bost is a Principal Product Designer who leads the Premium Revenue Opportunities team at Dropbox. Her cross-functional team brings together product designers, design researchers, product analysts, product marketers, product managers, engineers, and customer experience specialists to build prototypes and experiments that help them identify, evaluate, and recommend new revenue-generating products for Dropbox.

Dropbox is a public company that generated $1.4B revenue in 2018. In Q1 2019 they made $385.6 million, over 90% of which came from 13.2 million paying subscribers. While their Q1 revenue and paying subscriber numbers exceeded initial estimates, they are still operating at a loss. So, Dropbox invests money in R&D—like the work Kim’s team does—to identify new products and markets that can make them money.
